The following article contains spoilers for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Season 1, Episode 6, "Just Jen," now streaming on Disney+.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has always had slow growth in terms of adding characters and events to the canon. However, after the confusion of The Infinity Saga, things took a turn, and now each property introduced has also introduced more unique storylines and characters. As a by-product of this expansive movement, even more theories have popped up about where the MCU could go from here. That said, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has used its cameos and Easter eggs to have an opposite effect than intended.

When WandaVision released, fans couldn't stop wondering if the demon Mephisto would make an appearance on the show. But this was only the beginning, as future projects would have fans wondering if similar appearances would surface depending on the show. While Mephisto was one of the many that didn't come true, others like The Kingpin on Hawkeye proved some ideas weren't out of the question. But She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has played things safe and instead focused on debunking its biggest theories through Easter eggs and humor.

While She-Hulk's first outing on TV hasn't been used to set up the next Avengers villain or big event, it has helped create a universe that feels more lived in than ever. Rather than focusing on hero after hero, it has instead shown how ordinary citizens navigate a world with an influx of superpowered characters. As a result, the MCU has used She-Hulk's show to showcase the limitless possibilities of the future.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has also worked to remind fans that some of the most criticized films still have a place. For example, The Incredible Hulk and Eternals have hardly been touched on since they were first released. However, multiple episodes have focused on the events of The Incredible Hulk, thanks to Emil Blonsky. As for Eternals, fans now have confirmation that the massive Celestial in the ocean still exists and appeared fairly recently in relation to the series. As a result of these acknowledgments, Marvel Studios has helped reassure some fans that everything is still connected and relevant to the present and future.

Each Cameo Tempers Fan Expectations

With so many surprises found on She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, it is easy to get excited over what may or may not be on the horizon. Much like Mephisto, another character that caused a stir in the community is Ghost Rider, who fans speculated would appear on the show. That said, the tease was actually for a magician named Donny Blaze, a play "Johnny Blaze." But by making the joke to audiences, it also reassured fans that creators know what everyone wants to see. The series also acknowledged a man with claws fighting in a bar, teasing the possibility of Wolverine in the MCU. But even if it were true, the Easter egg proved he's yet another character that won't be coming soon.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has made a pastime of tempering fan expectations and debunking theories. For example, while it would be great for every hero from the comics to appear in their prime, that's not always going to happen. In one instance, Mr. Immortal appeared in all his glory as nothing more than a subplot of an episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. While he used his powers perfectly, it also confirmed fans may not ever see the Great Lakes Avengers. It may not be the most desired team right now, but his appearance was just another way She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has used its humor to debunk theories and temper expectations.

To see what other teases it has in store, watch She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, with new episodes every Wednesday on Disney+.
