She-Hulk: Brooklyn Nine-Nine's Stephanie Beatriz Lobbies for the Role

A popular fan-casting for the role of She-Hulk in the upcoming Disney+ series is Stephanie Beatriz of Brooklyn Nine-Nine fame, who seems to be keen on the idea herself.

“I would die to play that role. That is so flattering," Beatriz said of the fan-casting. "That is one of the best characters in that universe.”

The idea of playing She-Hulk has even influenced changes to Beatriz's work out routine. “I definitely have upped my workouts since reading some of those things. But also, [I think it would] be really exciting for fans to see some of these characters that we kind of decided are one thing, to sort of be imagined in a different way.”

Created by Stan Lee and John Buscema, Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk made her first appearance in Savage She-Hulk #1, which released in February 1980. The character has appeared in several television programs over the years, including The Incredible Hulk animated series from the 1980s and the Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes animated series of the late 2000s.

Beatriz is well-known for playing Detective Rosa Diaz on NBC's Brooklyn Nine-Nine. She also had voice acting roles in The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part, Bojack Horseman and Bob's Burgers.

The She-Hulk series is set to premiere on the Disney+ streaming service. The series doesn't currently have an official release date or cast.
