Marvel Studios unveiled the latest trailer for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law at San Diego Comic-Con 2022.

The new footage spotlights Jennifer Walters, played by Tatiana Maslany, as she tries to make her way in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The trailer highlights her job as a lawyer for superpowered individuals and provides various peeks at battles both in and out of the courtroom. Bruce Banner aka The Incredible Hulk, portrayed once again by MCU veteran Mark Ruffalo, also makes a fleeting appearance as he tries to ease Jennifer into her new double life as a high-profile superhero.

While little is known about She-Hulk: Attorney at Law's narrative, Marvel Studios has confirmed that the series is framed as more of a comedy than previous MCU installments. While fans can expect a healthy dose of action, Shulky will also be doing her best to live a normal life which, expectedly, results in all kinds of shenanigans. "She really is the antithesis of most superhero narratives," Maslany said. "There's this great element of denial in her that's relatable. For me, it was about rejecting what’s happened for as long as I could, as that’s what causes the fun tension between Jennifer and She-Hulk."

She-Hulk Battles Her Inner CGI

Following the debut of She-Hulk's first trailer, MCU fans expressed their concerns regarding the movie's use of visual effects. Many stated that the show's CGI wasn't up to scratch, comparing Jen's hulked-out appearance to dated animated films. Others noted that Maslany's She-Hulk transformation wasn't exaggerated enough to warrant extensive VFX work, stating that the creative team should have used practical effects. YouTube channel and VFX experts Corridor Crew noted in a video breakdown of the She-Hulk trailer that the CGI swings between "utterly convincing to Shrek."

Responding to the backlash over the trailer's CGI, She-Hulk director Kat Coiro said that fans were reacting so negatively because the character was so unique. "I think a lot of the reactions have to do with the fact that she is so different than anything we've seen," Coiro said. "When you think of Thanos or Hulk, they have a grisliness and a harshness and a bulkiness to them that is just so different. And when you just see a little pop of her, it's almost shocking because we haven't seen it before."

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law debuts on Disney+ on Aug. 17.
