Shazam! director David F. Sandberg dropped what looked to be an official trailer for the movie. Unfortunately, it was April Fools' Day, so it was all just a joke.

The trailer starts out serious enough, with thunderclouds and even a booming voice over of the Wizard talking to Billy Batson. Then the video pauses for a moment before footage from the Shazam! television show from 1974 takes over, set to AC/DC's "Thunderstruck." The titular character flies to the rescue and saves a woman on a runaway horse.

April 1 is certainly not the day to expect an official trailer to be revealed, especially when it falls on Easter Sunday. There were those who were disappointed by the revelation that the video was a fake, but most people saw it coming. Considering Shazam! is still in the middle of filming, a trailer is still likely months away from seeing release.

Arriving in theaters on April 5, 2019, Shazam! is directed by David F. Sandberg. The film stars Zachary Levi as Shazam, Asher Angel as Billy Batson, Mark Strong as Doctor Sivana, Grace Fulton as Mary Bromfield, Jack Dylan Grazer as Freddy Freeman, Ian Chen as Eugene Choi, Jovan Armand as Pedro Pena, Ron Cephas Jones as the Wizard and Cooper Andrews and Marta Milans as foster parents Victor and Rosa Vasquez.
