Shazam, The Killer, Heroes: November 2nd Comic Reel Wrap

SHAZAM

According to a video interview at MTV, the fans have spoken and they’d like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to play Black Adam in the big screen adaptation. The actor approves of the choice.

THE KILLER

A story at Variety notes that director David Fincher will direct the movie adaptation of the Matz/Luc Jacamon graphic novel. Allesandro Camon will write the script, Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment and Alexandra Milchan are producing.

HEROES

CBR News has video previews of next week’s episode “Out Of Time.”

THE FLASH

An article in the Hollywood Reporter, the big screen adaptation will not be a spin off of the “Justice League” movie. Director David Dobkin said he liked the simplicity of the character’s powers. “Because of that simplicity,” Dobkin said, “it is easy to design a theme and a story around what his inner life is in comparison to his superpower.”

SMALLVILLE

TV Guide is confirming that Black Canary will come to Kansas, played by Canadian actress Alaina Huffman. Thanks to Rich Sands for sending that along.

The publication also has a feature on actress Helen Slater coming to the series. “You know how people love this kind of stuff,” Slater said. “After learning that Krypton is going to be destroyed, I go through a portal to Smallville to see where my baby will be raised … because [her husband] Jor-El has already been to Earth and picked the Kents to be Clark’s family.”

Finally, Kryptonsite has screen captures from the promo for next week’s episode, “Wrath.”

THAT’S A WRAP

We can’t do this without you. The rumors, the scoops, the set photos — they’re all fueled by passionate fans emailing in the goods. The ones who ask, “What do you mean your sister’s dating somebody who works for Miles Millar?” The ones who know the code names of movie projects and scour city permit filings for them. The devoted, the involved. Fans, just like you. Whatever you know, we wanna know, and whether you want your name shouted to the web’s rafters or kept closer than a classified report, we’ve got you covered like a comforter. Broadcasting live from Los Angeles, this is your humble scribe Hannibal Tabu saying thank you for your time and indulgence, and “enough talk — let’s go make with the ‘biff’ and the ‘pow’ already.”
