With the DCEU's Shazam! now less than five months away from opening in theaters everywhere, the upcoming superhero film still has only released its first trailer which debuted this past July at Comic-Con International in San Diego.
Director David F. Sandberg revealed that the reason behind the lengthy period between trailers is the amount of visual effects involved in completing the film's sequences.

Or when it’s ready. One of the two.
Vfx takes time and while trailers never have finished vfx the internet has a tendency to not be forgiving. https://t.co/8s17r9n0PT
This echoes a statement from Sandberg this past September where he disclosed that the suit for the film's titular superhero was still "a work in progress."
Shazam! is currently in the middle of scheduled reshoots in Toronto and, with fellow DCEU film Aquaman opening in just over a month, a new trailer attached to the Warner Bros. film would be perhaps the perfect opportunity to unveil another look at Billy Batson in action.
Arriving on April 5, 2019, director David F. Sandberg’s Shazam! stars Asher Angel as Billy Batson, Zachary Levi as Shazam, Mark Strong as Dr. Thaddeus Sivana, Djimon Hounsou as the ancient wizard Shazam, Grace Fulton as Mary Bromfield, Jack Dylan Grazer as Frederick “Freddy” Freeman, Ian Chen as Eugene Choi, Jovan Armand as Pedro Peña, Faithe Herman as Darla Dudley, Cooper Andrews as Victor Vásquez, and Marta Milans as Rosa Vásquez.
