Shazam! Powers Up in Several New Hi-Res Images

The release of Shazam! is quickly approaching, and to celebrate the film's impending release, Warner Bros. has unveiled a slew of new high-definition photos of Zachary Levi's hero in action.

Collectively, the images are some of the best looks we’ve gotten so far of DC’s Big Red Cheese. The images, which were originally released by Collider show several scenes that should familiar to anyone who's seen the trailer for the DC Extended Universe film. Many of the images show Shazam! testing his powers or hanging out with Jack Dylan Grazer's Freddy Freeman.

We’re also treated to what’s sure to be an iconic image of Asher Angel's Billy Batson leaping off a rooftop and being struck by a lightning bolt that transforms him into the superpowered Shazam in the air.

While we've already seen several of the other images in trailers for the film. this is the first time they've been seen in such high quality stills, and the new look at the material highlights the film's aim at a  superhero film that boasts a bold colorful palate and exaggerated sense of style.

Based on the iconic DC Comics character, Shazam! tells the story of Billy Batson, a troubled orphan who is bestowed immense power whenever he speaks the name of an ancient wizard. His new powers bring him into the eyes of Dr. Thaddeus Sivana, a scientist who was denied the wizard’s magic as a child.

With mostly positive early reviews, Shazam! is due out in a matter of weeks, and the hero's live-action cinematic debut already poised to take over the box office with a $40 million opening weekend.
