With his DC Extended Universe debut set for next year, not much has been revealed about the full plot of Shazam's first modern cinematic adventure. Fortunately, a new synopsis for the film gives more details about the movie's plot, and teases the machinations of the film's villain, Dr. Sivana (Mark Strong).
Opening with a line about how everyone has a superhero in them, the synopsis recaps how Billy Batson (Asher Angel) is given the ability to transform into his titular alter ego, Shazam (Zachary Levi), by uttering his other self's name. The synopsis also states that, while Billy has fun with his new powers, he'll have to fully master them soon to stop sinister forces controlled by Sivana.
With the mention of those forces, this may imply that the Seven Deadly Enemies of Man (Injustice, Pride, Envy, Hatred, Laziness, Greed and Selfishness) are a crucial part of the film's plot, most likely with Sivana freeing them, and gaining power over them. Given how the film draws inspiration from Geoff Johns and Gary Frank's reboot of the Shazam mythos from the New 52, where the Seven Deadly Enemies played a crucial part in the new origin, this might be the case, and could hint at a larger plan by Sivana for world conquest.

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson's (Asher Angel) case, by shouting only one word -- SHAZAM! -- this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Zachary Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard (Djimon Hounsou). Still a kid at heart -- inside a ripped, godlike body -- Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he'll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Mark Strong).
