Mark Strong's villainous Doctor Sivana confronts the title hero in new video from the Toronto set of Shazam!
Arriving on the heels of another video that showed a costumed Zachary Levi in action, this footage seems to indicate the black-clad Sivana possesses superpowers in director David F. Sandberg's film. Note that Shazam rolls off the hood of the crumpled Philadelphia police cruiser as the approaching Sivana sends the armed officers reeling with a mere gesture.

That's a significant departure from the comic book source material, where Thaddeus Bodog Sivana is portrayed as the archetypal mad scientist who relies on his intellect and inventions, and his skills as a master manipulator, to battle his archenemy Shazam (née Captain Marvel).
Of course, it's possible that Strong's Sivana doesn't actually possess superhuman abilities in the film, but is instead equipped with an invention that enables him to go toe to toe with Shazam.
Arriving in theaters on April 5, 2019, Shazam! stars Zachary Levi as Shazam, Asher Angel as Billy Batson, Mark Strong as Doctor Sivana, Grace Fulton as Mary Bromfield, Jack Dylan Grazer as Freddy Freeman, Ian Chen as Eugene Choi, Jovan Armand as Pedro Pena, Ron Cephas Jones as the Wizard and Cooper Andrews and Marta Milans as foster parents Victor and Rosa Vasquez.
