A behind-the-scenes photo from the set of Shazam! Fury of the Gods has offered fans their best look yet at Rachel Zegler's Anthea costume.Shared on Zeger's personal Twitter account, the image shows the actor wearing a costume that looks to be inspired by both her character's Greek mythology background and the armor-heavy clothing adorned by Wonder Woman's Amazons. Zegler posted the images to celebrate the "huge week" she had just finished and to look back at how far she has come since breaking into Hollywood with Steven Spielberg's West Side Story.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods is set several years after the events of the first film, 2019's Shazam!, and follows the Shazam Family as they try and stop the Daughters of Atlas -- Zegler's Anthea, Helen Mirren's Hespera and Lucy Liu's Kalypso -- from using a weapon that could destroy the world. Zachary Levi returns as the title superhero in the upcoming DCU sequel with Asher Angel also reprising his role as teenager Billy Batson, the Fawcett City resident who can transform into Shazam by saying the hero's name.
Rachel Zegler's Future Projects Include Snow White Remake
After making her film debut in West Side Story, Zegler has lined up several starring roles in high-profile projects, including Disney's upcoming remake of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs where she will play the title character. The actor has previously expressed how excited she is to "get to be a Latina princess," stating in January 2022, "Never in a million years did I imagine that this would be a possibility for me." She continued, "You don't normally see Snow Whites that are of Latin descent. Even though Snow White is really a big deal in Spanish-speaking countries." Fellow DCU star Gal Gadot, who portrays Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, will act opposite Zegler's Snow White as the Evil Queen.
Zegler will also star as Lucy Gray Baird in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, which is currently scheduled to open in theaters on Nov. 17. The upcoming prequel to Lionsgate's Hunger Games franchise will be set during the 10th annual Hunger Games -- several decades before the events of the original film quadrilogy -- and follow Tom Blyth's Coriolanus Snow as he mentors Lucy, who is the District 12 tribute. Zegler will also voice the lead character in the upcoming Skydance Animation musical film Spellbound, which will be distributed by Apple TV+.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods opens in theaters on March 17.
