Shazam! Fury of the Gods director David F. Sandberg revealed an image of the full Shazam Family in their new superhero costumes.
"Don’t know how long we can keep the new suits from leaking so here’s a pic I took the other day," Sandberg tweeted.
This image comes on the heels of leaked photos featuring Zachary Levi donning his new costume that surfaced in early June. However, this is our first look at the rest of the Shazam Family as they'll appear in the sequel.
Although the first Shazam! seemingly set up Mister Mind as the sequel's villain, Fury of the Gods will see Billy Batson's heroic counterpart face off against the daughters of Atlas: Hespera (Helen Mirren), Kalypso (Lucy Liu) and an unnamed character played by Rachel Zegler. Shazam!'s Adam Brody also confirmed the sequel will feature the same comedy as the original, along with more fight scenes featuring the full Marvel Family. "I'm sure there'll be moments of real peril that you take seriously as well, but leaning into the comedy and leaning into the goofiness and the wish fulfillment of it all is a pretty natural and joyful experience," he explained in October 2020.
Directed by David F. Sandberg, Shazam! Fury of the Gods stars Zachary Levi as Shazam, Jack Dylan Grazer as Freddy Freeman, Asher Angel as Billy Batson, Marta Milans as Mama Rosa, Helen Mirren as Hespera, Lucy Liu as Kalypso and Rachel Zegler in an undisclosed role. The film arrives in theaters June 2, 2023.
