Shazam! director David F. Sandberg "confirmed" that at some point in the upcoming DCEU film, the superhero Shazam will briefly wear Aquaman’s iconic orange-and-green suit.

Sandberg responded to a tweet asking if Shazam's costume would change during the film. In response, he joked that Billy Batson would occasionally sport Aquaman's suit due to the popularity of the James Wan-helmed film.

Although its wide release is two weeks away, Wan’s Aquaman earned an incredible $25 million on its first opening day and finished its first weekend with $93.6 million, which outperformed any other previous DCEU opening weekends. According to Forbes, its $12.99 million earned on Monday has brought its current box office amount in China to an impressive $107.65 million.

Although Sandberg's response was more comical instead of factual, one cannot deny that such publicity couldn't hurt the future film starring Asher Angel as Billy Batson and Zachary Levi as his adult alter ego. Aquaman's current box office totals suggest that a sequel is a strong possibility, and with the announcement of a standalone film focusing on Black Adam, one of Shazam's magical nemeses, starring Dwayne Johnson in development, it sounds like Shazam may need all the help and money he can get.
