While most films seem to be getting delayed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, DC's The Flash will reportedly release earlier than planned. However, the same can't be said about Shazam! 2.

According to THRThe Flash is now set to premiere on June 3, 2022 instead of July 1, 2022 with Shazam! 2 changing its intended release date from April 1, 2022 to Nov. 4, 2022.

Following up on Ezra Miller's appearances as Barry Allen/The Flash in both 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and 2017's Justice League, the upcoming film puts the Scarlet Speedster in the spotlight. John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein were both previously in place to helm the film, though both stepped down due to creative differences. It Chapter Two's Andy Muschietti is now set to direct the movie, with filming planned to begin sometime in 2021.

Shazam! 2 will continue the story of Billy Batson, who received superpowers from a wizard named Shazam in the first film, which was directed by David F. Sandberg. He will return to direct Shazam! 2 with Henry Gayden penning the script. Currently, there is no official word on when filming will begin.
