When it comes to hand-to-hand combat in the Marvel Universe, no one comes close to Shang-Chi. Sometimes referred to as the "Master of Kung Fu," his expertise goes far beyond that one discipline as he mastered a variety of styles. Beyond that, he has learned how to harness and direct his chi, allowing him to enhance his own abilities.

While Shang-Chi doesn't exactly have superpowers, his skill level is so high that it sometimes seems like he does. If a DC villain is going to step to Shang-Chi, they had best step correct, especially if he busts out the nunchucks.

10 LOSE TO: Amazo

Created by the evil but brilliant scientist and inventor Professor Ivo, Amazo was designed to be the Justice League's ultimate enemy. There is certainly an argument to be made for that. The android has the ability to replicate the powers of virtually any hero or villain.

This has made him a match for the likes of Superman in the past, as well as the entire Justice League. Not that Shang-Chi still wouldn't try but it's hard to imagine him winning this fight on his own. It's even hard to imagine the Avengers winning without calling in their reserve members.

9 DEFEAT: Black Mask

Black Mask from DC Comics

Gotham has so many crime bosses that you'd think they grow them on some sort of strange crime tree. Black Mask is one of those crime bosses, and like so many of them, he has gone completely insane over time. The man wears a black mask made from his mother's coffin.

While he doesn't have any powers to speak off, the mask somehow offers a minute amount of telepathic control over people. This was a huge asset in building his empire. None of that would matter to Shang-Chi, who would take on his forces and win.

8 LOSE TO: Deadshot

Deadshot shooting

Similar to most confrontations with DC's top assassin, who wins this match depends entirely on who gets the first shot in. Keeping in mind that he has been known to get up close and personal to do the work, Deadshot generally prefers to take his targets out from a distance. You don't get a name like "Deadshot" by missing frequently.

The problem for him is Shang-Chi's ability to harness his chi, which offers him an enhanced level of perception. This might be enough to see Deadshot's attack coming in time to avoid it. But Floyd still has the skill to take Shang-Chi out before he even knows he's there.

7 DEFEAT: Bronze Tiger

One of the most preeminent hand-to-hand fighters in DC, Bronze Tiger has been on both sides of the line. More recent years have found him playing the part of a hero but his time as a villain proved just how dangerous he truly is.

Bronze Tiger is so skilled that he has gone toe-to-toe with Batman and come out on top, which is saying a lot about his skill level. But that still isn't enough to take Shang-Chi down. As talented as Bronze Tiger is, he's still not in Shang-Chi's league, though few people are.

6 LOSE TO: Black Adam

Black adam surrounded by lightning

As Shazam's predecessor, Black Adam was a hero in Ancient Egypt. While Shazam is powered by beings of Greek Mythology, Black Adam is powered by beings of Egyptian Mythology. Over time, his brutality forced the wizard Shazam to imprison him for several centuries.

Black Adam would eventually break free, facing off against DC's heroes as often as he works with them. It's a matter of convenience. Given Black Adam's power levels, it's hard to imagine Shang-Chi having much of a chance against Black Adam. Still, the Master of Kung Fu would make it interesting.

5 DEFEAT: Vandal Savage

Vandal Savage

After spending tens of thousands of years walking the Earth, Vandal Savage has faced off against everyone. The same meteorite that made this former Neanderthal hyper-intelligent and immortal also gave him enhanced physical abilities. Savage has honed those abilities over the years, making him formidable in combat.

Regardless, he's not good enough to take on Shang-Chi and win. As long as Vandal Savage's life has been, he never focused on honing his fighting skills the way Shang-Chi did. Savage cannot defeat him in combat, though he would still outlive him which would be a different kind of victory.

4 LOSE TO: Mirror Master

Mirror Master With Flash's Worried Reaction Reflected In Many Mirrors

Much like Deadshot, this is highly dependent on Mirror Master getting the drop on Shang-Chi, which is not an easy thing to do. Mirror Master is not exactly an accomplished fighter. In fact, he would probably get his butt handed to him by pretty much anyone in a fist fight.

But his various mirror related gimmicks and weapons give him such an edge in combat that he's given Flash a run for his money on more than a few occasions. Mirror Master can attack from virtually any reflective surface, and trap Shang-Chi in them as well. He would prove to be an interesting challenge for Shang-Chi, but a difficult one to overcome.

3 DEFEAT: Deathstroke

As the top mercenary in DC, Deathstroke has fought pretty much every hero it has to offer as well as a few of the villains. Slade Wilson is an expert in a variety of forms of unarmed combat as well as several forms of armed combat. Essentially, he has an incredible array of options to kill people with.

On top of that, Deathstroke has had enhancements done that increased his intelligence and physical capabilities. All in all, he's a force to be reckoned with but so is Shang-Chi. He's got the right moves to take Deathstroke down.

2 LOSE TO: Solomon Grundy

Solomon Grundy rises out of the swamp in DC Comics

A mindless zombie with superhuman strength and endurance, Solomon Grundy would be a handful for any hero. He usually faces off against Batman as he operates out of Gotham but defeating Grundy isn't a slam dunk for the Caped Crusader. Shang-Chi is a martial arts master and is more than a little proficient with a variety of weapons.

However, none of that is particularly useful against someone like Grundy. Even worse, Shang-Chi can't even use his knowledge of pressure points to his advantage. The only chance Shang-Chi has is teaming up with Batman. Together, they might be able to stop Grundy.

1 DEFEAT: Cheshire

Trained by Ra's al Ghul's League of Assassin's, Cheshire is a formidable fighter. She has mastered a wide variety of assassination techniques, some far more subtle than others. But she's also incredibly capable in one-on-one combat situations, giving the likes of Green Arrow and the Outlaws trouble.

She's even been known to take on DC heavyweights like Wonder Woman, though that didn't go as well for Cheshire. While she's not someone to take lightly, Cheshire is also not going to be defeating someone like Shang-Chi, no matter how deep into her bag of tricks she goes.
