Raised to be an assassin by his father, the immortal crime lord Lord Fu Manchu, Shang-Chi decided that life wasn't for him and devoted himself to battling not just his father but also evil in general. One of the most skilled martial artists on the face of the Earth, Shang-Chi has fought by the side of many heroes and was even an Avenger for a time.

Gotham City's greatest hero, Batman is one of the best fighters in the DC Universe. A member of the Justice League, Batman has faced down some of the most dangerous villains around. If Shang-Chi and Batman were to clash, who would win?

11 Shang-Chi: Weapons Master

In the course of his extensive martial arts training, Shang-Chi also learned how to use multiple different weapons- Jian (Chinese double-edged swords), butterfly swords, oxtail swords, staves, and nunchaku. In fact, during his time as an Avenger, Iron Man made Shang-Chi special weapons that would help Shang-Chi in the type of battles he would fight with the team.

While he doesn't always use weapons, Shang-Chi's proficiency with all manners of weapons makes him an even more formidable fighter who's ready for any situation.

10 Batman: The Utility Belt

Batman finds himself in all kinds of crazy situations, be it on the streets of Gotham or with the Justice League and his equalizer is his utility belt. While he carries some standard equipment in it- batarangs, explosives, smoke bombs, and grappling equipment- he also has a lot of mission-specific hardware in it, just in case.

Batman is a great fighter but the weapons and equipment contained in his utility belt give him an edge and allow him to do more damage than he normally would.

9 Shang-Chi: Chi Mastery

5 Shang-Chi

Shang-Chi has learned to focus his chi energy and use it in combat. While not a superhuman himself, this ability has allowed him to perform superhuman feats like pulverizing concrete and iron, take hits that would kill a normal human, and deaden the pain inflicted by attacks.

This ability has allowed him to hang with opponents who were superpowered and also allowed him to wade through seas of foes that would easily overwhelm any single man. While he can't harness chi to the extent someone like Iron Fist does, it still gives him an edge over his opponents that is unexpected.

8 Batman: Reinforced Costume

Batman's costume hasn't been just spandex for a long time. It makes sense, of course- Batman is, after all, just a regular human who, while in peak physical condition, finds himself in situations that would kill a regular person. In the course of a typical night in Gotham, he's fighting groups of armed opponents and they don't always miss; that's not even counting what happens when he's fighting the superpowered foes of the Justice League.

Batman has done a lot of work on his costume over the years, reinforcing it so he can take some serious hits and keep going.

7 Shang-Chi: Nerves Of Steel

Shang-Chi's martial arts training has given him a wide range of skills- there's a reason they are called disciplines. One of the skills it gives Shang-Chi is complete control over his nervous system. Shang-Chi can use this skill to fight the effects of poisons and other toxins, slow down his bleeding, and slow his heart and breathing rate.

These skills allow him to keep going when others wouldn't be able to, resist the effects of all kinds of toxins, and stay conscious in situations where such things would be impossible.

6 Batman: Fight Smarter, Not Harder

Batman is known for his unparalleled tactical acumen. It's one of the things that makes him such a daunting foe to face- Batman can make a plan to deal with just about any eventuality and has the resources to follow through on those plans, allowing him to punch way above his weight class.

Of course, Batman also finds himself in situations where he's suddenly in way over his head as well and this is where his tactical mastery really comes in handy. Batman is known for making great plans on the fly as well, weighing his options and finding the best solution to his problems as quickly as possible.

5 Shang-Chi: Nothing Fancy

Shang-Chi, being a denizen of the Marvel Universe, has found himself up against lots of superpowered folks. He's been a member of MI-6 in the past and worked for multiple other spy organizations, finding himself fighting opponents that would give a lot of problems to people without superpowers. Every time, though, he's been able to win these fights and succeed in his missions.

Batman does this as well, but what really makes it more impressive is that Shang-Chi doesn't have access to the same kinds of technology that Batman does. When Shang-Chi does it, he does it on his own, using weapons and skills that humanity has been using for thousands of years.

4 Batman: Dirty Tricks

Batman Classic Look Year One

Batman has been fighting crime for a long time and he's learned something from the criminals he's faced- there are no rules when life is on the line. While Batman definitely has some morals, he knows that sometimes one has to fight dirty so they can get up to fight again the next day.

Batman has no problem breaking the rules to get things done and while he would never kill, he has no problem doing things that other people would find dirty to win a fight. Batman's tenacity and willingness to do just about whatever it takes to win has allowed him to survive a lot of fights he otherwise wouldn't have.

3 Shang-Chi: Master Of Kung-Fu

Shang-Chi has spent his entire life studying martial arts, focusing on Chinese martial arts and kung-fu in particular. He attained a level of mastery in kung-fu that is just about unparalleled. This skill focus has served him well in other areas as well, as it has given him the discipline needed to become proficient at multiple things.

Batman is a great fighter but he has no focus- he tries to be the best at everything. Shang-Chi has focused on being the best at one thing- martial arts- and has used that discipline to make his other skills that much better.

2 Batman: Overwhelming Skill

Batman is good at just about everything- he's a great detective, a proficient martial artist, a cunning strategist, a technological genius, and a shrewd businessman. His breadth of skills has allowed him to compete with and surpass some of the best heroes and villains anywhere, keeping him on the winning side of just about any conflict he finds himself in.

Going up against Batman is a daunting proposition for just about anyone because of all the various skills and experience he brings to the table.

1 Winner: Shang-Chi

Batman brings a lot to the table and is a formidable foe, but he's not unbeatable. In the past, he's fallen to opponents with a greater grasp on the martial arts than him and that's Shang-Chi in a nutshell.

Batman is good at lots of martial arts but Shang-Chi is a master- he's ready for just about any trick or tactic that Batman can throw at him and his peerless fighting skills will allow him to take Batman down quickly and efficiently.
