Simu Liu, who plays the titular character in Marvel Studios' Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, offered an update on the film's recent halt in production.

"Per the news you've no doubt read online, our main unit is going to take a couple days off while some people on our staff undergo precautionary testing," Liu shared on Instagram, referring to production being delayed while director Destin Daniel Cretton is tested for coronavirus (COVID-19). "I'm super grateful to work for a company that is proactive, cautious and empathetic during this difficult time. Everyone is in good spirits as we continue to work towards making an incredible film!"

In the Instagram post, Liu shared an image of himself and The Gifted's Jamie Chung from an episode of Comedy Central's Nora from Queens. "Stay safe out there, wash your hands, and - of course - don't be racist!" he added.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings isn't the only Marvel Studios production to experience a delay due to  coronavirus, as the upcoming Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier had to pump the brakes on its Prague shoot. Countless other events have either been canceled or delayed because of the virus.

The delay comes shortly after the first set photos and video from Shang-Chi surfaced, giving fans their first look at the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film.
