The following contains spoilers for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

A deleted scene from Marvel's Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings revealed that Razor Fist was originally supposed to die.

In the scene, posted by IGN, Florian Munteanu's Razor Fist is seen giving Awkwafina's terrified Katy a pep talk during the film's final battle in Ta Lo. When Katy tells him, "I'm a valet driver from Richmond. What the hell am I doing here?" To which Razor Fist tells her, "And I'm an amputee from Romania who shouldn't be here either." He then sacrifices himself to give Katy enough time to grab a bow before he is captured and killed by one of the soul eaters. The deleted scene is also unfinished, with green screen and early effects still visible throughout, and was not used in the final theatrical cut of the movie.

Prior to Shang-Chi's release in theaters, Munteanu teased that there were some Razor Fist scenes that didn't make it to the final cut of the movie, but would be available as bonus content on the Blu-ray release. "We had that big end battle, and you [originally] would have seen a bit more there from Razor Fist," he explained, unable to give more information at the time. "I'm looking forward to people seeing that because there was a reason why he replaced his blade with the dragon sword and fights with two swords, but I don't want to spoil too much and I don't want to give away too much."

Razor Fist, who was introduced in Shang-Chi's bus fight scene early in the movie, appeared in the post-credit scene standing next to Xialing (Meng'er Zhang) as she takes over the Ten Rings after the death of her father, Tony Leung's Wenwu. Clearly, the character's journey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe isn't over yet. "I always call [him] stepdad because, at the end of the day, Wenwu gave him a new life and purpose and a home. He trained him and took him away from the streets. That's also something you will see in the bonus material," Munteanu continued. "[Xialing's] his daughter, so there's more meaning to that than just following a new leader, but we'll have to see what happens."

This Razor First deleted scene, titled "Pep Talk," is one of 11 deleted scenes that will appear on the 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD editions of Shang-Chi. Set to release on Nov. 30, it includes even more never-before-seen bonus material and a gag reel.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is now available to stream on Disney+.
