The Master of Kung Fu and the rest of the Marvel universe is about to have their first encounter with a new supervillain in Shang-Chi #2.

The creative team of award-winning writer Gene Luen Yang and artist Dike Ruan will introduce Lady Iron Fan in the upcoming Shang-Chi issue. Not only is the new villain able to telekinetically control fan-like blades, she is also the leader of a powerful criminal organization rivalling the likes of Hydra and AIM.

Yang explained, "In our story, Lady Iron Fan is the owner of a popular casino hotel in Macau. She plays hostess to the biggest supervillain social event of the season... Lady Iron Fan is inspired by Princess Iron Fan, a famous character from the Chinese classic Journey to the West. Her powers are inspired by the classic character."

The first volume of Shang-Chi saw the titular superhero become the new leader of the Five Weapons Society, determined to restore honor to the shadowy organization. This has made him a target of superheroes and supervillains alike. Shang-Chi #2 sees the master of Kung Fu go head to head with both the mysterious new Lady Iron Fan, as well as Captain America.

Written by Gene Luen Yang with artwork by Dike Ruan and a variant cover by Michael Cho, Shang-Chi #2 is set to his shelves June 30.
