Crazy Rich Asians star Michelle Yeoh may be in talks to join Marvel's upcoming film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

ComicBook.com reports Yeoh is circling a new Marvel Cinematic Universe character, after she previously appeared as Aleta Ogord in 2018's Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Additional details about the Shang-Chi character she could play are being kept under wraps.

Yeoh is a longtime actor with roles in 2000's Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, 2002's The Touch and 2004's Silver Hawk. She also appeared in the award-winning film Memoirs of a Geisha. Yeoh will reportedly also appear as a character named Dr. Karina Mogue in James Cameron's upcoming films Avatar 2 and Avatar 3. 

Yeoh would join the cast of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings alongside Tony Leung as the Mandarin and Simu Liu as the title character. According to Kevin Feige, the cast of Shang-Chi is made up of 98% Asian actors.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings arrives in theaters on Feb. 12, 2021. Production on the film is set to begin later this year in Australia.
