Marvel's Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings has added another actor to its cast.

According to Deadline, Dallas Liu is set to appear in the upcoming Marvel Studios film, joining Simu Liu, Awkwafina, Michelle Yeoh and Tony Leung. Details on his role are being kept under-wraps for the time being.

Dallas Liu is probably best-known for playing Maya's older brother, Shuji, on the acclaimed Hulu comedy series Pen15. His other roles include Taylor King on the series Players and the young version of Bi Han in the web series Mortal Kombat: Legacy.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will follow the eponymous superhero as he sets out to confront his past, only to end up in a larger conflict with the mysterious Ten Rings organization and their leader, The Mandarin. The Ten Rings were first mentioned in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2008's Iron Man and were referenced again in the Marvel One-Shot All Hail the King, in which Trevor Slattery -- who pretended to be The Mandarin in Iron Man 3 -- was confronted by a member of the group. Leung will play the real Mandarin in the Shang-Chi solo film.

Created by Don Heck and Stan Lee, The Mandarin first appeared in 1964's Tales of Suspense #50. A brilliant scientist and talented martial artist, early depictions of the character were known for being racially insensitive -- something Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton hopes to subvert with Leung's version of the super-villain.

"I think [Leung] brings a humanity that we need for that character," Cretton said, when interviewed in Sept. 2019. "We are not looking to contribute any more to the Asian stereotypes that we have seen both in cinema and pop culture. We're hoping to just show some different sides to both Asian-Americans and Chinese-Americans and Mainland Chinese Characters." In a later interview, Cretton teased "the ideas of camaraderie, family, and connection" will be a big part of the movie, fueling speculation the MCU will depart from Marvel's comic books by making The Mandarin Shang-Chi's father.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and written by Dave Callaham, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings stars Simu Liu, Tony Leung, Awkwafina, Michelle Yeoh, Jiang Nan, Meng'er Zhang. Ronny Chieng, Fala Chen, Dallas Liu and Jiang Len. The film arrives in theaters Sept. 3.
