A potential LEGO set leak for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings has given fans their first look at the costume Simu Liu will wear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.Though part of it is obscured, the outside box for the Shang-Chi LEGO set states it's for a "battle at the ancient village." Simu Liu's Shang-Chi is shown to the far right of the packaging wearing a red sleeveless top with black lines crisscrossing at the top. The center of the box features a large red-and-white dragon that is shooting blue flames out of its mouth. Below, Shang-Chi is battling Wenwu, which may be another name for The Mandarin. Other figures displayed with Shang-Chi and Wenwu include Xialing, Death Dealer and a small creature named Morris.
The MCU costume Shang-Chi will wear has some similarities to suits he's worn in the comics. The majority of Shang-Chi's comic outfits have red as its primary color, which the top displays. Right now, it is hard to tell if Shang-Chi will have red matching pants, or if they are black. Marvel recently gave Shang-Chi an updated superhero costume for a new limited series by writer Gene Luen Yang and artists Dike Ruan and Philip Tan. The publisher also announced a new volume of Shang-Chi by Gene Luen Yang and Dike Ruan that will pit Shang-Chi against the heroes of the Marvel Universe.
Fans may have to wait until the first trailer for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is released before officially feasting their eyes on his MCU costume. Simu Liu has promised that the trailer for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will be more than worth the wait.
"It's gonna be so good when it comes out guys I PROMISE Just not today... just not today," Liu wrote on Twitter. He also attached a disappointed GIF of himself, to let fans know he's just as disappointed as they are that there is no footage to premiere yet.
Opening Summer 2021, Simu Liu stars as Shang-Chi in Marvel Studios’ Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings. Shang-Chi must confront the past he thought he left behind when he is drawn into the web of the mysterious Ten Rings organization.
