Marvel Comics have released the first five pages from Shang-Chi #1 by writer Gene Leun Yang, alongside artists Dike Ruan and Philip Tan. The pages feature a flashback to Shang's past, which are illustrated by Tan. Ruan picks up in the present day where Shang and his on-again, off-again love interest Leiko Wu are attacked by a group of warriors.

The miniseries will delve into the Master of Kung-Fu's past and introduces a new group of martial artists called the Five Weapons Society. The miniseries is meant to launch ahead of Shang-Chi And The Legend of The Ten Rings, which stars Simu Liu as the Master of Kung Fu.
