Amid a shuffling up its upcoming calendar, Fox has moved up the release of Shane Black's hotly anticipated "Predator" by three weeks.

The film was originally targeted to open March 2, 2018, but now it will debut on Feb. 9, 2018. Production is scheduled to begin this fall.

Black has said the film won't be a reboot the 1987 original, but will instead serve as sequel that will "explore the Predator mythology."

Arnold Schwarzenegger starred in "Predator" as Major Alan "Dutch" Schaefer, the leader of an elite Special Forces team sent into the jungles of Central America to rescue hostages. However, they soon find themselves stalked by the titular antagonist, a technologically advanced alien. Black co-starred alongside the likes of Carl Weathers and Jesse Ventura.

The Predator has been featured in a total of five films: "Predator," "Predator 2," "Alien vs. Predator" and "Alien vs. Predator: Requiem."
