Netflix reveals Shadow and Bone: Destinies, a new role-playing game set in the Grishaverse.Unveiled as a part of Netflix Geeked Week 2022, Destinies is a single-player RPG mobile game that will allow fans of the fantasy series to step the roles of their favorite characters. While details on the project remain scarce, Netflix confirmed that it will feature a heavy narrative focus and the story will be impacted by the player's decisions. Co-host Geoff Keighley also teased that Destinies has "rogue-like elements." Beyond Destinies, fans of Shadow and Bone were treated to a promising update regarding the live-action adaption of author Leigh Bardugo's novels. The cast of the show confirmed that Season 2 has officially wrapped production and will consist of eight hour-long episodes. While a release window for the next chapter in the saga was not confirmed, the actors promised that the upcoming installment in the Grishaverse saga is "action-packed," "heart-rending," "swashbuckling" and "epic."

Similar to Destinies, details on Shadow and Bones Season 2's plot are largely unknown. Speaking about the future of the series, Bardugo, who serves as an executive producer on the show, explained that the series plans on exploring parts of the Grishaverse that fans have yet to see. "There are so many places we’ve barely gotten to visit, and I can’t wait to introduce our audience to more of the saints, soldiers, thugs, thieves, princes, and privateers who make this world so much fun to explore," Bardugo said. "It’s going to be real magic to see our brilliant, talented cast expand."

Shadow and Bone's first season debuted on Netflix to generally positive reviews, as critics and fans praised the series for faithfully adapting Bardugo's beloved fantasy world. Beyond the striking attention to detail and overall production value, the show's cast was praised for their gripping performances that were enhanced by compelling writing. Some noted that the denseness of the world may leave some confused, the efficient storytelling allows even those unfamilair with the franchise to enjoy the narrative.

Shadow and Bone stars Jessie Mei Li as Alina Starkov, Archie Renaux as Malyen Oretsev, Freddy Carter as Kaz Brekker, Amita Suman as Inej, Kit Young as Jesper Fahey and Ben Barnes as General Kirigan. It's currently unknown whether the actors will be reprising their roles for Destinies.
