King is the Grizzly's Sin of Sloth In The Seven Deadly Sins, but he is also King of the Fairies. King has made some questionable choices in the past, some of which don't make any sense. He left the forest in an attempt to rescue his friends, but didn't succeed.

He even chose to erase Diane's memories of him, and with each mistake he makes, he feels less and less worthy of being called the King of the Fairies. His mistakes are what allow him to grow as a character, starting off as a child who knew little about the world and growing into the King that he was meant to be. He protects those he cares about to the best of his ability, especially Diane.

10 He Thinks His Other Form Is Cool

Human King In Seven Deadly Sins

King, like the other fairies, has the ability to transform his appearance. He only transforms himself into what he calls a "regal appearance." This makes him look like a plump, older man.

He kept up this appearance for extended periods of time before the Sins were framed, even though this ability exhausted him. Despite the others telling him that this appearance doesn't look cool, and Diane even screaming once she saw it, his opinion remains unchanged.

9 Everyone Recognizes Him Besides Ban

Ban is shocked

When King meets with the other Sins, Ban is the only one who isn't able to recognize him. This is thanks to the fact that King's normal appearance is so different from his transformed appearance. However, the fact that the others knew exactly who he was at the start makes Ban seem like he's the lost one.

It makes sense that Ban would be completely taken by surprise, and even the wanted posters show images of his human form.

8 He Did Not Send Someone Else After Helbram

He Did Not Send Someone Else After Helbram

King knew that Helbram was in trouble, so his first instinct was to go to save him himself. He felt responsible for not stopping Helbram from meeting with humans. Elaine asked him to stay since it was his responsibility to protect the forest.

King could have asked someone else to go after them first, as he is not the only fairy in the forest with powers. He took a risk, going on a journey that he couldn't guarantee that he would come back from.

7 He Did Not Do Anything With Helbram's Body

Instead of taking Helbram's body straight back to his forest, King prioritized erasing Diane's memory first. Thanks to this decision, Helbram was resurrected two more times by the Holy Knights.

King already felt that he had failed Helbram, but he didn't expect humans to take his body and put him on the black market. Eventually, Helbram was used as a weapon, and King was forced to kill him again. Helbram deserved to be put to rest properly.

6 King Is Physically Weak

King Is Physically Weak

Although King is talented at using his Spirit Weapon as well as his fairy magic, he is incredibly weak when it comes to physical combat. Although he can take a few hits, he is unable to do much damage with his fists.

He doesn't make any attempts to change this shortcoming, but if he had, he would have been able to have another tool in his arsenal in situations in which he wouldn't be able to rely on his magic.

5 King Never Read Ban's Heart

The Seven Deadly Sins Ban looks forward

Like his sister, King has the ability to read the hearts and minds of others. Ban is not immune to being read, as Elaine was capable of listening to his honest thoughts. However, King never bothered to read Ban's heart to confirm that Ban killed Elaine.

He acted too rashly despite the fact that the tragedy was also his responsibility, as he did not want to admit this to himself. Ban's thoughts are very honest, so King would have quickly learned the truth if he bothered to try.

4 King Loses His Tournament Battle Instantly

King is poised to fight

King is enrolled in the Vaizel Fight Festival against his will, not nearly as excited about a fist-fight brawl as Meliodas and Ban were. During the first round, he miraculously stays in the ring by hovering over the ground.

During his next round, however, he was not so lucky. In his fight against Cain Barzard, King loses almost instantly. The old man is able to send him flying out of the ring, much to his embarrassment.

3 All Of The Fairies Hate Him Besides Gerheade

Gerheade inquisitive

Despite King's good intentions, all of the fairies express their disgust when he returns to the forest. They blame him for abandoning them and not being there to protect the forest, despite the fact that they didn't do much to protect the forest either.

Gerheade is the only fairy that recognizes him as the Fairy King, and because of this, she tries to hold Ban captive so that he can give life to the forest for all of eternity.

2 He Is Too Similar To Gloxinia

Gloxinia with the wrong tattoo

King is so similar to Gloxinia that it is almost uncanny. Like Gloxinia, he left the forest to do what he thought was right. As a result, their sisters lost their lives.

Both King and Gloxinia blamed the human men that were with them at the time, and both attempted to take the lives of these men. King was the only one that didn't succeed, but he was close to making the exact same choices that the first Fairy King did.

1 He & Diane Lose Their Memories A Lot

Diane smiles at King

There is a staggering amount of memory loss in the series. Elizabeth loses her memories every time she is reincarnated, and Gowther erased his own memories. King and Diane have also lost their memories at some point in time.

King lost his memory shortly after leaving the forest, and Diane lost her memory twice. She lost her memory because of King the first time, and the second time was Gowther's fault. It doesn't make much sense for memory loss to be such a common occurrence.
