While the focus of The Seven Deadly Sins is definitely the seven overpowered band of characters that the show is named after, they wouldn't have been reunited after years of separation without the efforts of Elizabeth Liones, Princess of the Kingdom of Liones. In an effort to save her kingdom, she ventured out to find Meliodas and the rest of the Sins, all the while learning more about her own identity.

Fans of the anime now know that she's actually a Goddess who was Meliodas' lover and punished with him following the first Holy War. But there's still a lot of things about her that fans might've missed out on since it's so easy to get distracted by a show that features dozens of Holy Knights, a host of monstrous Demons, and hundreds of magic abilities.

10 She's Been Reincarnated Over 100 Different Times

Seven Deadly Sins, Elizabeth's Reincarnations

In The Seven Deadly Sin's most recent season of its anime, fans found out that Elizabeth Liones is actually the 107th reincarnation of a Goddess named Elizabeth. Due to a curse cast on her and Meliodas by the Supreme Deity and the Demon King, Elizabeth loses her memory of her past lives with every reincarnation, but upon gaining them, she dies within three days, always in front of Meliodas.

This means that Elizabeth's appearance, voice, personality, and even name have all been predetermined, based on the Goddess that she originally was, making it easier for Meliodas to identify her whenever they crossed paths.

9 She Was Born In Danafor

Elizabeth Liones is born - Seven Deadly Sins

Although Elizabeth Liones is a prominent figure within the Kingdom of Liones, she was actually born in the Kingdom of Danafor, just seconds after Meliodas obliterated it. She was born right after Liz, Meliodas's former lover, died in her defeat against Fraudrin.

Since he destroyed her birthplace, Meliodas was forced to bring her back to Bartra Liones, ensuring she'd have a good life and would be treated like royalty despite not being blood-related to anyone else in this Liones.

8 Her Favorite Food Is Apple Pie

Elizabeth Liones bakes an apple pie - Seven Deadly Sins

In an official Seven Deadly Sins fanbook, it was revealed that Elizabeth Liones's favorite food is apple pie. This makes perfect sense, since during the time she took over the Boar Hat after Meliodas's death, she served apple pies to the patrons, and in the movie Prisoners of the Sky, the Sins proceeded to bake an apple pie to celebrate Bartra Liones's birthday.

It sounds like everyone in the Liones family has a fondness for apple pie, meaning Elizabeth most likely inherited her love for this delicacy after spending so much time around her adoptive father.

7 She Was Once Known As The "Rust Knight"

Elizabeth Liones isn't intimidating in the slightest. However, when she first strayed from the royal capital in search of Meliodas and the Seven Deadly Sins, she donned a giant suit of rusted iron armor that started rumors of a wandering "Rust Knight," which terrified a few Boar Hat patrons in the first episode.

A few soldiers managed to track the Rust Knight to the Boar Hat, but Meliodas covered well for Elizabeth, ensuring that the rumor of the Rust Knight would go on potentially for generations longer.

6 She Used Her Healing Powers Long Before She Met Meliodas

Elizabeth Liones heals Meliodas with a hug - Seven Deadly Sins

Elizabeth Liones has always possessed the power of a Goddess, but without her memories, she wouldn't know how to access them. This is why, for the majority of the series, she remained a helpless damsel in distress, and often tapped into her powers whenever her emotions were inflated. Most notably, she healed Meliodas's wounds after Hendrickson's defeat.

While this might've been the first hint of her divine origin, those close to Elizabeth, most notably Margaret Liones, already suspected that there was more to her long before that. When she was young, her father suffered a bad fall, injuring himself gravely. Elizabeth tapped into her Goddess powers in order to heal him, which soon triggered the change in one of her eyes.

5 She Wore Her Hair Over One Eye To Hide It

Elizabeth Liones reveals her orange eye in The Seven Deadly Sins.

When Elizabeth first tapped into her Goddess powers at a young age, she noticed that one of her eyes changed, turning from its normal blue to a bright orange that marked her as a Goddess. Without yet knowing the reason behind this change, she was left feeling alienated from the rest of her family. This led to her covering her eye with her hair.

Fans were shocked to learn that what seemed to be a harmless stylistic choice was actually a cover-up for one of Elizabeth's biggest insecurities. After her memories returned, she proudly let both eyes be shown to the world, unable and unwilling to hide who she truly was any longer.

4 She's Changed Her Outfit More Than Any Other Character In The Series

Elizabeth Liones' different outfits - Seven Deadly Sins

In animated series in general, characters don't really change their clothes, often wearing the same outfit for most of the series. Most of the Seven Deadly Sins have more than one outfit, and they all have their own unique suits of armor, but Elizabeth Liones has been seen in more outfits than all of them.

When she made her first appearance, she wore a skintight jumpsuit before adapting the Boars Hat uniform as her standard apparel. She later wore clothes given to her by the Druids, and entered the Second Holy War wearing the ensemble that Merlin made for her. Even against someone like Gowther, who wears anything he can get his hands on, his wardrobe just doesn't compare to Elizabeth's.

3 She's A Fan Of Arts & Crafts

It's evident that Elizabeth knows how to put an outfit together, but what many fans don't know is that she's apparently a fan of arts and crafts. According to a Seven Deadly Sins fanbook, she's given Bartra many gifts that she made herself, including silverware, a horse leash, and a suitcase.

While she hasn't had any time to make her father any more gifts (since she's been so busy saving her entire kingdom), fans haven't seen her craftsmanship in action just yet, but with the Second Holy War coming to its climax and inevitable conclusion, Elizabeth Liones might soon find herself with a lot of free time.

2 Her Cooking Isn't Any Better Than Meliodas's

Elizabeth's homemade soup - Seven Deadly Sins

Meliodas's horrible cooking is a huge spot of comedic relief in the series, and it's pretty ironic that he runs a pub with drinks to keep the house packed but food that only a pig would eat. After Meliodas was killed by Estarossa, Elizabeth temporarily took over the Boar Hat, where she kept guests satisfied even in a world overrun with Demons.

When she described one of her pies as being "apple-ish," that was the first sign that her cooking was just as questionable as Meliodas's, but this became all the more apparent when she served Golgius a bowl of homemade soup. Upon taking a tiny sip, he didn't hesitate to spit it all back out.

1 She Would've Met Meliodas Even If She Never Set Out Looking For Him

Elizabeth and Meliodas face to face - Seven Deadly Sins

In order to save her kingdom, Elizabeth Liones ventured outside of the royal capital in search of Meliodas and the Seven Deadly Sins. Even if she hadn't wandered into the Boar Hat, she would've inevitably succeeded in her mission.

Per the terms of the curse placed on her and Meliodas, every incarnation of Elizabeth always meets Meliodas and dies before his very eyes. This curse is like a string that keeps the two fastened together, no matter how apart they might be for much of their lives.
