Seth Rogen stated he has no plans to work with former collaborator James Franco.

"What I can say is that I despise abuse and harassment and I would never cover or conceal the actions of someone doing it, or knowingly put someone in a situation where they were around someone like that," Rogen told The Times. "However, I do look back at a joke I made on SNL in 2014 and I very much regret making that joke. It was a terrible joke, honestly."

In 2014, Rogen joked during his opening monologue on SNL that he landed a date with his Pineapple Express co-star by posing as an underage girl on social media. Rogen added, "I also look back to that interview in 2018 where I comment that I would keep working with James [Franco], and the truth is that I have not and I do not plan to right now."

Rogen also shared that his personal relationship with Franco has changed since the allegations came to light, explaining, "I don't know if I can define that right now during this interview. I can say it, um, you know, it has changed many things in our relationship and our dynamic."

In February, Franco reached a settlement with two former students who accused him of sexual misconduct during a class at his now-closed acting school. Specifically, plaintiffs Sarah Tither-Kaplan and Toni Gaal claimed that Franco abused his power and pressured students to perform in explicit sex scenes on camera in an "orgy type setting." Franco was previously accused by a 17-year-old girl of sending explicit messages over Instagram in 2014.

When asked if the situation was "painful," Rogen admitted that it was, but clarified, "But not as painful and difficult as it is for a lot of other people involved. I have no pity for myself in this situation." Rogen previously worked alongside Franco in over eight films, including but not limited to 2013's This Is The End, 2014's The Interview and 2015's The Night Before.

Franco is probably best known for his roles in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man films, Pineapple Express, Milk, 127 Hours and The Disaster Artist. The actor was nominated for Best Actor at the 2011 Oscars for his role in 127 Hours and won the Golden Globe for Actor in a Musical or Comedy for his role in The Disaster Artist in 2018.
