WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Servant Season 2, Episode 4, "2:00," which aired Friday on Apple TV+.

Season 2 of Servant is testing the Turners after Dorothy (Lauren Ambrose) broke bad and kidnapped Leanne (Nell Tiger Free). The whole situation has left Sean (Toby Kebbell) scared because not only has he become more emotional, wanting Jericho back, but he's also starting to feel uncomfortable committing sinister acts.

To put it simply, he's becoming more human, which is not the path his wife has chose. Fortunately, despite all the bad he's done, it's Sean's sacrifice that could his child back home.

When Dorothy heads out to work, Sean becomes Leanne's protector. Against Dorothy's will, he feeds her and opens up like it's a therapy session, reliving the pains of marriage and his hope that Dorothy will return to the light. Leanne knows he's a good man deep down, something she saw in Season 1, but he's clearly weighed down by Dorothy's baggage and selfish ways. However, it's been hinted at that he could turn to Leanne's side, which could bring baby Jericho back.

Julian makes fun of him being blessed by Uncle George at Jericho's baptism early on, but while Dorothy lashes out, surprisingly, Sean doesn't. In fact, he seems more at one with God, meditating and praying in secret. That's why Leanne showing compassion and praying his curse away hit a sentimental spot for him.

Sean wants to return to that slow life he used to have, but he won't get it with Dorothy. And as he professes to Leanne that he'll do whatever it takes to bring Jericho back, it's possible that he even means sacrificing himself -- at least, mentally. If he goes with Leanne, it would be a chance at a second life with the Church of the Lesser Saints. Sure, Sean knows it's a cult, but he's not sold on them being demonic, and if Leanne's part of it, a piece of him might think it could be somewhere he might find the salvation he can't at home.

In reality, Sean is still feeling guilty about Jericho's death because he neglected Dorothy and the kid. So maybe, if he trades his life, he will see it as redemption. Dorothy wouldn't miss him as much as the child, and it's clear Jericho would make her more feel more whole. In the past, George and Aunt May have spoken about how sacrifice is the path to redemption, and given Sean's emotional awakening, leaving could complete his growth into a selfless father who risks it all for his family.

Starring Lauren Ambrose, Toby Kebbell, Nell Tiger Free and Rupert Grint, the second season of Servant airs every Friday on Apple TV+.
