WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Servant Season 2, Episode 2, "Spaceman," which aired Friday on Apple TV+.

Servant Season 2, Episode 2, "Spaceman," saw the return of Roscoe, the private detective hired by Julian to assist in him and Sean's investigations into Leanne Grayson. His return is a welcome one, as at the end of Season 1, he was last seen being confronted by Leanne's creepy Uncle George and Aunt May after he had been tasked with staking out the house. Given their affiliation with the Church of the Lesser Saints, there was a chance that Roscoe's life was in danger.

Despite Roscoe returning seemingly safe and sound, he remembers nothing about the events during his absence. Luckily, Dorothy's friend, Natalie, is able to hypnotize him, and the details he reveals of his repressed memories terrify the family and shed more light onto the disturbing practices of the Church of the Lesser Saints.

Roscoe's absence had previously been noticed by Sean, who pointed out in Servant Season 2, Episode 1, "Doll" that Roscoe's car was still parked outside the Turner residence. However, Julian shrugged off the private eye, saying that he, "isn't exactly reliable." However, at the beginning of "Spaceman," Roscoe awakens in his car and enters the home, ravenous with hunger and acting as though he had only spent one night outside.

After Sean and Julian break the news to Roscoe that he had been missing for four days, they take his phone and listen to an audio recording that he accidentally made. Roscoe is heard tearfully pleading for something to stop while Leanne assures him it'll be okay; however, Julian believes the cult is trying to break Roscoe.

To learn more, Sean gets ahold of Natalie to hypnotize Roscoe. Once he's under, Roscoe recalls vague aspects of his apparent kidnapping. He describes being held in a room, where his hands are tied with straw. His recollections become more fragmented, describing a rotten smell and uttering phrases like,"They're on their knees for him. They're bleeding... His hand is a hook." When pressed about Jericho, Roscoe says there's a baby crying and being passed around. This is followed by the alarming, "He's holding him... He takes out the eyes, and he throws them away."

These clues and the implications of what is happening to Roscoe -- and possibly Jericho -- in the hands of the Church are disturbing, even bringing Julian to tears. While graphic in description, it's not too surprising given the archive video shown earlier in the episode, where a member of the Church whips himself in a barn, so Roscoe may have undergone a similar experience at the hands of whoever "he" is. If these details are true, then surely this has taught Sean and Julian just how dangerous the cult could be.

Starring Lauren Ambrose, Toby Kebbell, Nell Tiger Free and Rupert Grint, the second season of Servant airs every Friday on Apple TV+.
