WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Servant Season 2, Episode 2, "Spaceman," which aired Friday on Apple TV+.

Season 2 of Servant is really testing Sean (Toby Kebbell), as Dorothy (Lauren Ambrose) continues to break down mentally after the disappearance of baby Jericho. He's hoping Julian (Rupert Grint) can find some way of tracking the kid and the sinister babysitter Leanne (Nell Tiger Free) down, but they're just hitting roadblock after roadblock. However, there's a ray of hope when Sean gets a mysterious phone call from a key player. But as much as he thinks this is a gift, it may well be a curse.

Dorothy returns to work in the latest episode," Spaceman," and puts Leanne up on a newscast as a missing person. She's hoping this will get the public to spot the caretaker and thus get her closer to the baby. But when she goes home, she realizes it might not have been the best play. Not only did she endanger her job, she might have aggravated Leanne and the Church of the Lesser Saints.

Later on, Sean answers a call from Leanne asking what Dorothy's trying to accomplish. She sounds a bit pissed, cold and calculating, which suggests she's ready to play games of her own. She also questions Sean about why he hasn't told Dorothy the truth about what's happening and how she left Jericho in a car by accident, causing his death months ago. Clearly, Leanne wants the truth out.

This rocks Sean, who assumed the call was to find a middle ground and that Dorothy's wacky plan worked. By doing this and nudging Sean on, if Leanne gets him to make it known what his wife did, she'll definitely shatter the couple. It seems heartless, but Leanne is clearly playing the couple after the attempt at smoking her out. The thing is, Sean may be tempted to do so, hoping Leanne will forgive them and return the baby so they can redeem themselves.

After all, he's finally accepting his emotions, processing the guilt, trauma and despair, and actually wanting the kid back so he can be a father to it. In other words, Leanne could be manipulating these newfound emotions. The voice might not even be hers, as cult leaders George and May seem to have powers too, so they could be aiming to divide and conquer.

After all, there's no guarantee they'll return the baby, even if the family owns up to its sins, so this caller -- whether it's the dark Leanne that Servant Season 1 teased or a pretender -- may actually be encouraging Sean to hit the self-destruct button on the Turner household without them even knowing.

Starring Lauren Ambrose, Toby Kebbell, Nell Tiger Free and Rupert Grint, the second season of Servant airs every Friday on Apple TV+.
