Netflix has release a teaser for A Series of Unfortunate Events that announces a Jan. 1 premiered date for the third, and final, season of the series.

The promo features Neil Patrick Harris as the villainous Count Olaf, and Patrick Warburton as Lemony Snicket, who briefly reestablish the the show's premise, as well as the plight of the Baudelaire triplets (Violet, Klause and Sunny) have endured over the first two seasons.

Olaf and Snicket have very different interpretations of events, naturally, with Snicket pointing out “gratuitous fires” that Olaf refers to as “fortunate coincidence." The two go back and forth in this manner, while revealing that the upcoming season will be the finale for the story. The third season will adapt the final four books in the bestselling series, The Slippery Slope, The Grim Grotto, The Penultimate Peril and The End.

The third season of A Series of Unfortunate Events will arrive Jan. 1, 2019, on Netflix.
