Republican Senator Mike Lee from Utah pulled an interesting stunt when speaking about the Democrat's Green New Deal on the Senate floor Tuesday. Lee presented images of Aquaman riding a seahorse and Luke Skywalker riding a Tauntaun on Hoth in Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back, among others, to mock the Democratic proposal.

Lee made the claim that air travel would become restricted and if people wanted to visit Alaska or Hawaii, they'd have to travel by Tauntaun (because Alaska is so cold) or giant seahorse (because Hawaii is tropical and in the middle of the Pacific). With each example, Lee showed the corresponding visual aids.

The Green New Deal is a policy aimed at curbing climate change and the use of fossil fuels. Lee and the Republican party disagree with the Deal, drafted by freshman Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her staff, calling it too expensive.

AOC responded to the display on social media, saying there are "those small moments, especially on hard days, where you wonder if the haters are right. But then they do things like this to clear it right up."

Lee later referenced Sharknado 4, where the tornado filled with man-eating sharks was dropped on his home state. He said his arguments and illustrations were in jest and the real solution to climate change is getting married and making babies.
