Selma Blair is continuing to show her support for writer and director James Gunn by choosing to leave behind the very social platform that led to his firing.

Blair, much like Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista, has been very vocal in her support for Gunn since Disney's decision to ultimately cut business ties with the director. Along with sharing links to the petition to try and get Disney to reinstate Gunn as the writer and director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Blair has also retweeted articles regarding Hollywood's new "zero tolerance" policy and how Twitter has become weaponized. Now, like fellow Gunn supporter, Michael Rooker, the actress has announced she's leaving behind the social media platform in order to show she stands with Gunn.

Disney's decision to fire Gunn following the unearthing of disturbing jokes made nearly a decade ago has caused plenty of controversy online. While some feel the studio was in the right to fire the director, others feel the decision was wrong, as Gunn had not only admitted to his mistakes in the past, but made it a point to apologize for said jokes that were made long before he ever joined forces with Disney and Marvel.

Blair is just one of many popular actors in Hollywood to speak out in Gunn's favor. While his brother Sean Gunn has tried to keep his comments on the matter civil, as he is still very much employed by the same company that fired his brother, others such as Bautista and Rooker have openly spoken out against the studio. And perhaps while not as vocal as their counterparts, fellow Guardians cast members Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana and Karen Gillan have chosen to show their support for their director in other ways -- whether through bible verses or old cast photos.

It's unlikely any of this will change Disney's decision, but one thing is for certain: Gunn's firing has ignited a heated debate in Hollywood and it doesn't appear to be dying down anytime soon.

Gunn had recently completed his first draft of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which was slated to begin filming in January in Atlanta for a 2020 release. However, Marvel Studios had yet to officially announce a release date, and it’s unclear at this time how Gunn’s firing will affect plans for the sequel.
