Seis Manos -- Netflix's upcoming original anime series -- will debut on the streaming service on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2019.

Set in Mexico in the 1970s, Seis Manos centers on three orphaned martial arts warriors who join forces with a DEA agent and a Mexican Federale to battle for justice after their beloved mentor is murdered in their tiny border town.

The series stars Aislinn Derbez (La Casa de las Flores), Mike Colter (Luke Cage), Jonny Cruz (Overwatch), Angelica Vale (Jane The Virgin), Vic Chao (Mortal Kombat X) and Danny Trejo (Machete). All eight episodes will be available at launch with English and Spanish audio, as well as multiple subtitled language options.

Seis Manos will be a balancing act of genres, incorporating action, mysticism and horror. Co-creator Alvaro Rodriguez described it as "Machete meets Kill Bill on the set of Coco." Each character will have their own style, with co-creator Brad Graeber saying that the "fight scenes should drive the story."

Premiering Thursday, Oct. 3 on Netflix. Seis Manos stars Aislinn Derbez, Mike Colter, Jonny Cruz, Angelica Vale, Vic Chao, and Danny Trejo. The series is a co-production between Viz Media and Powerhouse.
