"Seekers of the Weird" #1 cover by Mike del Mundo

Although most of the Marvel.com announcement slate for New York Comic Con 2013 consists of super heroes, InsideTheMagic.net has a first look at "Disney Kingdoms: Seekers of the Weird," the first in a series of comics based on the worlds, attractions and characters of Walt Disney theme parks. Written by Brandon Seifert with art by Karl Moline, "Seekers of the Weird" sets its sights on the never-built Museum of the Weird attraction designed in 1965. According to InsideTheMagic.net, the attraction was meant to be a lead-in to The Haunted Mansion which was home to a collection of mystical curiosities from across the world. The comic focuses on Maxwell and Melody as they race through the museum after their parents are kidnapped attempting to save the world from an evil secret society.

"Disney Kingdoms is the ultimate team-up for fans of Disney and Marvel," Editor Bill Rosemann told InsideTheMagic.net. "Working hand-in-hand with the world-famous Walt Disney Imagineers, Marvel's best and brightest creators will unleash entire worlds inspired by and built around the attractions and characters that you've always known-but will experience for the very first time."

The standard cover for "Seekers of the Weird" #1 features art by Mike del Mundo and Disney Imagineer Brian Crosby will provide a variant cover. More details about the series will be revealed during the Cup O' Joe panel at NYCC 2013.
