Two of Sega’s most popular video games -- “Streets of Rage” and “Altered Beast” -- might soon be seeing film or television adaptations. Stories International and Circle of Confusion have partnered together to produce adaptations of the two Sega games, with the idea being to create a film or television series using the properties. Tomoya Suzuki, the president and CEO of Stories International, will produce the projects alongside Lawrence Mattis and Julian Rosenberg (both of Circle of Confusion).

Circle of Confusion is a production-management company that produces “Fear the Walking Dead”, “Talking Dead”, Outcast” and “Dirk Gently” among other shows. It’s most recent film ventures include “American Ultra” and “Mr. Right,” as well “Spare Parts.”

Sega already had a deal with Stories International to produce television and film projects for a series of other Sega properties, including “Shinobi,” “Golden Axe,” “Virtua Fighter,” “The House of the Dead” and “Crazy Taxi.” According to Stories, they are in the process of finding major studios, producers, and filmmakers to partner with to develop the adaptations.

Lawrence Mattis seemed excited to be on the projects, stating in the announcement that “these are some of the most well loved SEGA games, and we are thrilled to be working with Stories to adapt them into major film and television franchises.”
