It takes more than ooze to give mutants life. Concept artist Nuttavut Baiphowongse was approached over five years ago to design the look of beloved "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" cartoon brutes Bebop and Rocksteady for Michael Bay's "Ninja Turtles" CGI/live-action feature, but filmmakers held off on introducing the characters onscreen until this summer's "TMNT: Out of the Shadows" sequel.

Now the artist, also known for his work on "Maleficent," "Noah," "300: Rise of an Empire" and "Jupiter Ascending," has shared his original vision for the animalistic thugs, as well as his 2015 take on the brainy Dimension X-dweller Krang. Check out the detailed designs below, and try and resist the urge to hold your nose.

Do you think the images do justice to the classic cartoon characters? Sound off in the comments, or just enjoy poring over them as you feast on a fine dinner of turtle soup.
