WARNING: The following contains spoilers for See Season 2, Episode 1, "Brothers and Sisters," now available on Apple TV+.

In Apple TV+'s See, the world has been ravaged by a plague that's rendered humanity blind. There are a few people remaining who have sight, but they are considered witches in the Payan kingdom. In places like Trivantes, though, they're abnormalities who must be punished as this military state hates how sighted folks destroyed the planet through war and greed in previous centuries. However, as Season 2 gets underway, a shocking new tribe of sight is revealed. While it dooms one hero, it could save another.

This premiere has Jason Momoa's Baba Voss infiltrating Trivantes through the Eastern Gate, killing soldiers, smearing himself with blood and using one of the dead soldiers' armor to gain passage as the sentries use scent at the gateway. He wants to rescue his adopted daughter, Haniwa, as her real dad, Jerlamarel, passed on vision to her, so he knows they'll rip her apart.

However, it's a trap as Trivantes' Commander General, Edo Voss (Dave Bautista), is using Haniwa as bait, wanting to lure his brother back to kill him. Baba refused to kill a boy years ago when he was a slaver, murdering his own father instead in an act of insubordination before fleeing. Now, he risks it all, finding an old friend in the forger, Yakis, who tries to guide him through an underground circuit to Base 3 -- Edo's prison. Sadly, another affiliate, Snell, betrays Baba on the mission, leading to Edo's men cornering him.

As Edo's soldiers go after revenge, a frightened Haniwa's overseen by Lieutenant Wren, a young girl just about her age. The big twist comes, however, when Haniwa flings an apple into her face. Wren surprisingly catches it, confirming she can see too. Haniwa easily picked up on Wren's movements. Thus Wren's forced to admit she was born this way. She leaves it vague if her parents and brothers have vision as well, possibly hiding the truth to protect them.

This leads to a brawl. While Haniwa gets a chance to take a blade to Wren, she drops it, leaving Wren stunned at her mercy. Haniwa just isn't a killer, especially when it comes to someone who has her gift, and she's left wondering who else like them is in Trivantes, hidden in plain sight. This answer ties into Baba's fate because while he fends off Edo's men and seems like he'll escape, a young kid with sight acts as a spotter from on the roofs. Baba eventually grabs him, but he can't kill the boy, harkening back to his past and overall compassion. This backfires, though, as the boy sells out Baba once more.

Edo's men capture him, tie him up and whip Baba in Episode 2's final moments. Edo wants to torture and break his traitorous brother. However, Haniwa sparing Wren could change things. Wren is fed up with Edo's brutality and oppression. Therefore, it looks like she'll help Haniwa, which could lead to them freeing Baba. From the shot of her looking out from a tower at the sunset, Wren simply wants freedom, which Baba and Haniwa can offer.

The Season 2 premiere of See is available on Apple TV+, with subsequent episodes available every Friday.
