WARNING: The following contains spoilers for See Season 2, Episode 3, "The Compass," now available on Apple TV+.

In Season 2 of See, Baba Voss (Jason Momoa) has been left wondering which tribes out there can be trusted. His Alkenny were wiped out by Queen Kane (Sylvia Hoeks), and now, he's partnering with the man who carried out her crusade, the Witchfinder Tamacti Jun (Christian Camargo), in a temporary alliance to get back to his family. However, as Baba flees the bloodthirsty Edo, a new secret tribe reveals itself, and it has a shocking connection to one of Baba's own.

In "The Compas," Baba, Haniwa and Tamacti Jun are attacked as they flee Trivantes. Raiders want Haniwa for breeding purposes. After fighting to escape Edo's lair, the heroes are weak. It leads to the villains getting the upper hand, only for a crew of badass blind women to attack.

They're led by Olivia Cheng's Charlotte, using chains and cables to wrap the enemies up, break their necks and grind their heads off. Baba's stunned as this level of swift savagery is something he thought only he and Edo's army could have enacted. After, the group reveals itself as allies known as the Compass.

Baba's tentative as he thinks they could actually be eyeing his crew, but shockingly, Paris (Alfre Woodard) emerges with them. She's Baba's "mother," the seer who helped him protect the Alkenny. As they're reunited, she admits she sent Kofun off to Pennsa to meet their mom, Maghra, as Queen Kane's no longer viewing them as illegal witches.

As they discuss how Maghra's actually Kane's sister, Haniwa adopts her father's traits, not trusting the Compass as she doesn't like their secrecy. However, Paris disarms her by admitting she was one of them, protecting archives of old. They were trained as killers to preserve the past, hiding out in the forests and snowy mountains, making and manipulating maps and history in general. It's how they stayed off the grid. However, Paris raised one sighted kid who betrayed her and stole the relics.

This was none other than the sighted Jerlamarel. Power corrupted him, and he decided to sire kids, building his stronghold as he knew how tech and weapons could make those with vision god-like. Paris considered it her biggest failure, which is why she left the Compass and joined the Alkenny in exile, only for Jerlamarel to send a pregnant Maghra there. He knew that Paris would help them grow as she did with him out of sympathy and nostalgia once they were born.

As for the Compass, while they're willing to get the family to Pennsa, there's tension as they don't trust Tamacti Jun. Charlotte also runs afoul of Haniwa. The girl's tired of being a pawn in a bigger game, but Baba makes it clear they need to unite. Edo's army will be coming, but he can tell the Compass has deadly warriors and trump cards that could swing the battle in his favor.

The first three episodes of Season 2 of See are available on Apple TV+, with subsequent episodes available every Friday.
