WARNING: The following contains spoilers for See Season 2, Episode 1, "Brothers and Sisters," now available on Apple TV+.

Apple TV+'s See is pushing Baba Voss to the limit like never before after the genocide of his Alkenny tribe in this blind post-apocalyptic world. He now has to rescue his daughter, Haniwa, from his evil brother, Edo Voss, in the military kingdom of Trivantes. However, he's hoping to have help on the mission, with his other adopted child, Kofun, training to be a warrior. Unfortunately, Kofun's gory conditioning reveals his strength is also his greatest weakness.

This is his sight, which he inherited due to being a child of Jerlamarel, who sired many kids with vision, as the end of Season 1 revealed. Now, Season 2 opens with Kofun and Baba in a trial by fire, as the veteran warrior wants to see what Kofun can do in the heat of battle.

He knows Trivantes' soldiers are the deadliest they'll ever face since Baba was one of them -- a slaver who killed his own dad and turned his back on Edo, fleeing to the Alkenny. Baba's amputating folks, skinning and gutting them, as if it were Mortal Kombat, proving how much like Daredevil he is. However, as he coaches Kofun, he has to take lead way too much.

He's got that bloodthirst in him he wants his son to have. Granted, Baba grew up to love this, so it comes automatically, but Kofun was raised a different way. While he does stab some soldiers, he's not efficient. One manages to get back up to almost kill him, but Baba impales him on a tree. He then takes Kofun's hand and holds the sword, ramming it into the man to finish the job. The lesson gets dark, though, as Baba tells him he has to hear and feel the kill rather than see it. People have adapted to a sightless world, so even when they're felled, they make it seem like they're dead, which easily fools Kofun.

The teen's shivering, as he can't handle this savage tutelage, which leaves Baba disappointed. He knows Kofun will be a liability, so he has to make the trip alone. While Kofun would be a sitting duck, Baba blames himself for letting his child grow up peacefully in the Alkenny, hunting for sport and not survival.

After all, killing game is different than going to war, and Baba admits he let this happen because the kids were so beautiful, and he didn't want the twins subjected to the rigors of a military life. Kofun doesn't like it, but he concedes his sight is a vulnerability right now. He's eventually found by Maghra's soldiers, and as they take him back to Queen Kane and Maghra, Kofun knows he has to toughen up because they could turn on him, Baba and Haniwa, dubbing them witches once again.

The Season 2 premiere of See is available on Apple TV+, with subsequent episodes available every Friday.
