WARNING: The following contains spoilers for See Season 2, Episode 2, "Forever," now available on Apple TV+.

In Season 2 of Apple TV+'s See, Jason Momoa's Baba Voss has been broken like never before. His sadistic brother, Edo (Dave Bautista), holds him captive in the war kingdom of Trivantes, now knowing his wife, Maghra, is still alive and at the side of her sister, Queen Kane. Most of all, Baba has no chance it seems of rescuing his adopted daughter, Haniwa, from Edo's grip, which makes him think he'll soon have none of the Alkenny tribe left. However, while the latest episode grants Baba a way out, he also commits his biggest mistake -- and it's one that will haunt him dearly.

Baba finds a couple of surprising allies in Trivantes with Lieutenant Wren, who's in love with Haniwa, betraying Edo and freeing Baba. She also frees Tamacti Jun, who wants redemption and to unite them with Maghra again, with this new alliance going off to Edo's home.

There, a bloody battle erupts, and Baba ends up being beaten down by Edo as Wren rescues Haniwa. He's pissed that Baba subjugated him in the past in front of their savage slaver of a father to make Edo a proper soldier. Edo also hated how Baba killed their dad, turned a new leaf and abandoned him, which has led to this moment as he puts his dad's blade to Baba's neck as karma.

Luckily, Haniwa tacks him up with some arrows, allowing Baba to place the sword at Edo's throat. However, he warns Edo that if the hunt for his family continues, he'll rip him to shreds. It's mercy, but a second chance Edo doesn't want. As Baba and Co. escape, this allows Edo to raise the alarms to send troops after them. So even when they get outside of Trivantes, they'll be tracked. Sadly, had Baba killed him, the massacre would have been kept secret.

But there's a bigger error at play here because Edo's spies have warned him Queen Kane's new capital, Pensa, will be waging war soon. It means he'll be gearing up for a preemptive strike. Therefore, even if Baba and Haniwa reunite with Maghra, they'll come under attack from Trivantes, who's known for having the deadliest warriors around. More so, Edo has sighted kids from Jerlamarel in his stead, so Baba's leaving a warlord alive who has all the right tools and key secrets to win a war.

To top it off, this act of forgiveness insults the villain. This isn't the art of war to Edo, and from the way he seems maddened, chances are he'll break the rules of the Trivantes council and enact a coup. They warned him to focus on the Western kingdoms, but Edo doesn't just want that region dead -- he wants Eastern ones like the Payans in Pennsa gone too. As such, with Baba going there, it's an extra incentive and, ultimately, the breaking point that'll cause Edo to unleash havoc on innocents in all directions.

The first two episodes of See Season 2 are available on Apple TV+, with subsequent episodes available every Friday.
