SPOILER WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for "Secret Wars" #9, on sale today.

In the finale of last month's Marvel's "Ultimate End," Miles Morales made a big move from the since-destroyed Ultimate Universe to the Main Marvel U. What's more, it was revealed that his mother -- who died in 2013's "Ultimate Comics Spider-Man" #22 -- was alive again. Now, in Jonathan Hickman and Esad Ribic's freshly released "Secret Wars" #9, readers learned just how that happened.

During the "Secret Wars" event, both Peter Parker and Miles Morales encountered the super-powerful Molecule Man. As he did with every character he encountered since the event began, Molecule Man asked both of them for something to eat; Miles offered him a hamburger, and thereby became the only character to grant Molecule Man's request.

In the "Secret Wars" finale, Molecule Man informed Miles, "I owe you one." Immediately thereafter, the issue transitions to Miles standing over the New York City skyline with Peter Parker. Peter inquires about Miles' mother, which goes to show she is alive and well in this world. The transition implies Miles requested to return to a normal(ish) life with his mother, which Molecule then granted.

Though he's a cast member in "All-New, All Different Avengers," the next steps in Miles Morales' new life in the main Marvel Universe will be primarily documented in the upcoming "Spider-Man" series from the character's co-creators, writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Sara Pichelli. The first issue is scheduled for release on Feb. 3.

"Secret Wars" #9 is now on sale.
