The following contains spoilers for Batwheels Season 1, Episode 1, "Secret Origin of the Batwheels," now available on HBO Max.

The first episode of Batwheels, aptly titled Secret Origin of the Batwheels, freshened up the Batman mythos in a lighthearted way. It deals with the vehicles in the Bat-cave coming to life in a mix of Transformers meets Cars, giving Gotham new heroes on the block. However, they faced their fast and furious equals in the premiere, reminding them the city's villainous forces are always going to evolve and test them. Thankfully, the vehicles were able to save the day and rescue the Bat-family from being kidnaped. Their presence shocked Bruce, but left Cassandra (Batgirl) and Duke (Robin) excited regarding what's to come. However, the brain behind this fleet coming to life could rework Batman's most unforgivable mistake from the comics.

Bruce's biggest error came in the form of the Brother Eye project in 2005. He initially built this satellite surveillance system to police the Earth, villains and heroes, which created an air of distrust. It led to the artificial intelligence becoming corrupted and the OMAC bots waging war on the planet. It also led to a lot of bloodshed -- including Wonder Woman snapping Max Lord's neck.

DC Comics' Batman reflected in the pupil of Brother Eye.

The disaster almost turned the entire public against heroes, leaving the Justice League truly cynical over the Bat's code. Thankfully, they'd get over it, but it reminded everyone how messed up A.I. tampering could get. In Batwheels, the potential is unfortunately present again for this to be repeated.

In the episode, the Bat-computer (aka BC) used special motherboards to give Batman's car (Bam), Cass' bike (Bibi) and Robin's sports coupe (Redbird) personalities. A truck (Buff) and the plane (Batwing) were given life too, with BC mentioning how special the motherboards are. She stated she and Bruce worked on them, but it's also implied she upgraded them, without the Bat knowing.

Luckily, they stopped the Legion of Zoom -- a fleet belonging to the Bat's rogues -- after some motherboards were stolen by Bad-computer and placed in them. However, what's noticeable is how BC cut a narcissistic figure at the end after the Zooms were defeated. When the Bat-fleet rescued Batman, Robin and Batgirl, BC had a sinister air, seeming to take credit. She eventually outed the cars to the heroes, so it's not like she needed to cover up. Instead, she hogged the credit.

This hinted BC could police Gotham and the world her way, deciding she should be the general of everyone. She could take over the cave, as well as the fleet, as she engineered the operation in the first place. Thus, BC could become a Sister Eye, viewing the fleet as efficient and stronger under her watch -- taking control, corrupting them, or luring some to the dark side in a civil war at Wayne Manor.

BC breaking bad would provide a cerebral arc that'd leave both sides thinking they have a point, creating something more nuanced than a villain just misappropriating the tech. It'd tear at the fabric of the Bat-family and leave Bruce wondering if he should keep meddling with tech and playing god. If this does happen, hopefully it doesn't get too destructive and can get sorted ASAP, but if turmoil plays out, BC may have the edge, not just due to their weapons, but all the insight they have on the humans they're facing.

Secret Origin of the Batwheels Episode 1 is available on HBO Max, and the series will come to Cartoon Network later this year.
