The first trailer for The Secret Life of Pets 2 shows the lovable Max dealing with a situation that any real-life pet owner could sympathize with: a trip to the veterinarian.
The first footage, from Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures, depicts Max (voiced by Patton Oswalt, taking over for Louis C.K) and his owner sitting in a waiting room while the dog's anxiety about being tricked into going to the vet is heightened by the eccentric yet hilarious variety of pets assembled there, including a pair of fire-starting felines.
Written by Brian Lynch and directed by Despicable Me’s Chris Renaud, The Secret Life of Pets 2 stars returning cast members Kevin Hart, Jenny Slate, Eric Stonestreet, Ellie Kemper, Lake Bell, Dana Carvey, Hannibal Buress and Bobby Moynihan, joined by Patton Oswalt, Tiffany Haddish, Nick Kroll, Pete Holmes, and Harrison Ford, in his first studio animated family film.
The 2016 original grossed $875 million worldwide, and was the most profitable release that year. The Secret Life of Pets 2 is scheduled to hit theaters June 7, 2019.
