Sony Pictures have released a new international trailer for “Resident Evil: The Final Chapter,” and it's a Hummer-dinger.
Like the official trailer that premiered earlier this month at New York Comic Con, this starts with Milla Jovovich's Alice showing off her driving skills in a military-standard Humvee. But her road battle with some kind of flying mutant biohazard thingy ends in an explosion we haven't seen before – one that shows the scale of destruction that has now befallen civilization.
The new footage fireworks don't end there either -- we see fire cascading down the outer structure of a broken building, flames engulfing an army of "them," and a zip-wire escape from the conflagration for Alice.
Shawn Roberts is back as Albert Wesker, and his appearance is as immaculate as ever, despite the T-virus apocalypse. Also returning is Iain Glen as the evil Dr. Isaacs. There's a giant rotating fan thing and and glimpses of some new mutants for Alice to dispatch.
Judging from the trailer, "The Final Chapter" looks to offer a suitable send-off for "Resident Evil" franchise -- until it gets rebooted, at least.
Written and directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, “Resident Evil: The Final Chapter” stars Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter and William Levy and is scheduled for release in theaters on Jan. 27, 2017.
