Sebastian Stan isn't entirely certain whether he appears in Marvel's Avengers 4.
The actor has thus far played Bucky Barnes in four Marvel Cinematic Universe films, but given the events of Infinity War and the back-to-back production schedules, he's not sure where his character fits in.
“When I was shooting anything, nobody ever told me what was part one or part two,” Stan told Collider. “The truth is, I don’t even know if I’m in [Avengers 4]. What I shot was in part one. And anything that I shot may or may not have been in part one or part two and I still don’t know. There were things that we shot that were never gonna’ make it because it was easier to just convolute the whole thing. So in a way, you go ‘All right, that’s cool, but …’"
The actor added that he believes the people behind Avengers 4 will make the best possible product, and that he has faith that the movie will be amazing. Avengers: Infinity War ended with half of the universe wiped from existence by Thanos. Bucky was one of the casualties, but is expected to be restored to life in Avengers 4.
The untitled sequel to Avengers: Infinity War will release on May 3, 2019. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Marvel’s Avengers 4 stars Robert Downey Jr., Josh Brolin, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Bettany, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Benedict Wong, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Holland and Anthony Mackie.
