Sean Bean's 'The Frankenstein Chronicles' Heads to A&E

A&E has picked up the U.S. rights to "The Frankenstein Chronicles," the period crime drama starring "Game of Thrones" alum Sean Bean.

Produced by Britain's ITV, the six-episode miniseries is a reimagining of the classic "Frankenstein" story, set in early 19th-century London. Bean plays Police Inspector John Marlott, who discovers a corpse washed up on the shore of the Thames isn't actually a child, but rather a grotesque assembly of human body parts. Marlott's search for the killer takes him into an underworld of prostitution, drug smuggling, body-snatching and murder for profit.

The drama also stars Anna Maxwell Martin, Charlie Creed-Miles, Ed Stoppard, Elliot Cowan, Hugh O’Conor, Joe Tucker and Kate Dickie.
