In an apparent scheduling slip-up, the official Tumblr for "X-Men: Days of Future Past" released eight character portrait for director Bryan Singer's sequel before they were quickly removed. Luckily, Comic Book Movie and Superhero Hype were able to catch them, providing fans with their first look at Omar Sy as Bishop.

The photos also offer a glimpse of Patrick Stewart's Professor X, Ian McKellen's Magneto and Daniel Cudmore's Colossus in their costumes from the dystopian alternate timeline created -- in the Marvel comic, at least -- when the X-Men fail to prevent the assassination of a U.S. senator by the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. (The remaining images are, of course, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Lucas Till as Havok and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.) However, a spoiler-filled report surfaced Monday indicating Singer has made some key choices to the influential 1981 storyline on which the film is based.

But as photos from Comic-Con International in San Diego can attest, "Days of Future Past" will indeed feature Sentinels, the mutant-hunting robots that serve as the de facto rulers of the United States in that alternate timeline.

Opening May 23, 2014, "X-Men: Days of Future Past" also stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Lucas Till, Halle Berry, Peter Dinklage, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Booboo Stewart, Fan Bingbing, Adan Canto and Josh Helman.
