SDCC: Timm Announces "Batman: The Killing Joke" as Next Animated Project

Structured as a response to the final fan question near the end of Warner Bros.' Premiere of "Justice League: Gods and Monsters" shown to Comic-Con International attendees Friday evening in Ballroom 20, animated feature producer Bruce Timm announced an upcoming new animated film entitled "The Killing Joke."

The film will based on Alan Moore and Brian Bolland's influential 1988 Batman one-shot. Timm stated that the feature would be directed by "Gods and Monsters" director Sam Liu, and released direct to video in 2016.

"Next year we'll be back at this table," Timm stated as the panel concluded, implying that the feature would likewise have a Comic-Con premiere.

DC Comics later confirmed the news, further adding that it will feature an all-new prologue, designed to add to the story.
