Rick and Maggie aren't gone yet, but there's still something bittersweet about AMC's trailer for Season 9 of The Walking Dead.

The trailer starts off with Rick explaining to someone how far he and his survivors have come. It's a lot of positive talk, but then we see his audience is Negan, locked in a jail cell and ready to kill Rick's positive thinking. From there, the scenes cut to Maggie telling Rick that she's ready and willing to be in charge, taking the burden from his shoulders, Daryl apparently going off the deep end, general strife among Sanctuary's residents and walkers -- lots and lots of walkers.
